TAC Safety Round July 16

14 Jul 2022 by Heidelberg West Football Netball Club

As we approach the TAC Safety Round on July 16th, Heidelberg West Football Netball Club will once again join forces with the TAC and AFL Victoria and band with the other clubs across Victoria to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on our roads by spreading the message that we all have someone to drive safely for.

As per last year we have again chosen to pay tribute and dedicate this round to Grant “Animal” Reinke.

7 years ago our football club was rocked and forever changed when our asssitant coach and club legend Grant “Animal” Reinke was involved in a car accident and never made it home from work one Thursday afternoon.

Grant was a life member, a coach, a mentor but most importantly he was a father and a husband. Grant’s legacy continues to run strong at our football club with his 2 sons Matt, Lachie and his son in law Daniel all members of the senior team.

Unfortunately we have a constant reminder to the importance of driving safely and why road safety is paramount. This week we will band together with Transport Accident Commission (TAC), AFL Victoria and other Northern Football Netball League clubs to remember we all have someone to drive safely for.

This weekend our players and volunteers will wear blue arm bands and pay tribute to Grant “Animal” Reinke.

RIP Grant “Animal” Reinke 21-5-2015
